Until the Son of God appear

Shine into this darkened corner
With the light from Eden’s morn

By your touch a hope is born

O come Thou Dayspring come and cheer
Our spirits by Thine advent here
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night
And death's dark shadows put to flight

Shall come to thee O Israel

Interrupt the mindless chatter
Of a world that turned from you
Speak the only Word that matters
Word made flesh, the Word that’s true

O come Thou Wisdom from on high
And order all things far and nigh
To us the path of knowledge show
And cause us in her ways to go

Break into my moment’s sadness
Solitary, lonely, then
Suddenly angelic gladness
